Fantastic Quilts

Jane Stickle meets Debbie Mumm by Susan Leise of Kearney, NE.
Hand appliquéd, hand and machine pieced and machine quilted.
I am making this quilt out of Civil War reproduction fabrics so I was very interested to see this one.  Susan's workmanship is beautiful.  At first I thought it was hand quilted- it's so well done.  I like the look of the Debbie Mumm fabrics.  I am about half way done with the blocks on mine....

I really like the checkerboard fabric she used for the binding.
This won a Judge's Choice award.

English Wedding Ring by Phyllis and Terry Marcum of Colorado Springs, CO.
Machine appliquéd and pieced, long arm quilted, original design.

Baltimore Revisited by Mary Simmons of Marysville, WA.
Hand appliquéd, machine pieced and hand quilted.  This was a Sue Garmin design and it won Honorable Mention in the Traditional category.

Lollipop Trees by Mary Ellen Sample of Key Largo, FL.
Hand appliquéd, machine pieced and long arm quilted by The Quilting Bee.

I love the colors in this quilt :)

I really like this quilt by Anissa Arnold of Lakewood, CO called Granny Squares.  It is all done by machine and is professionally long arm quilted by Jackie Arnold.  She used modern fabrics and colors in this traditional design and it works great!

Folk Art Meets Free-motion:  82 Inches of Domestic Freedom by Joanie Zeier Poole of Sun Prairie, WI.
She transformed "a 15 year old quilt top from a humble farmhouse folk art to polished sophisticated style."
Hand appliquéd, machine pieced and machine quilted.

The machine quilting is amazing.  This represents 178 hours of "refined free-motion quilting on a domestic sewing machine."  Amazing.  It won Honorable Mention in the Traditional category.
