Lauren Vlcek

There was a second guest at the morning taping of The Quilt Show.  Lauren Vlcek did a short segment on screen printing which was really interesting.  I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of her work but I did win her book during the give aways!  I thought I already had it, but couldn't remember exactly .... When I got home I discovered that yes, I already own this book - my friend Michelle gave it to me (it's a wonderful book!)  So I'm planning on using this one as a door prize when I teach the embellishing class in November :)

Like I mentioned we were treated to quite a quilt show and tell by Captain John (Anderson) throughout the day.  The quilt above (and to the right is the back) is The Quilt Show's block of the month this year, pattern designed by Sue Garmin.  It's a beautiful quilt - looks even better in person!

They also have some sort of classes or tutorials on The Quilt Show website for this quilt.  I'm sorry I don't know too much about it.  I remember seeing it on the website but since I have so many UFO's already, I passed it up!  If you're interested though, I bet you can find it at:
