I taught an embellishment class on Thursday and we were going over different stitches and experimenting with beads (donated to me for class by the lovely Jane Wheeler!) and one of the gals in the class, Karen, did a beaded chain stitch! I had certainly not seen that before, but I really love the effect so will definitely be using that stitch in the future. Thanks Karen!
Another hand appliqué masterpiece at the Black Canyon quilt show was Little Brown Bird made by Peggy J Maynes and quilted by Gail Smith. Look closely at how perfect the hand appliqué is! She received an Award of Excellence from the Colorado Quilting Council and a 2nd Place in the Large Appliqué quilt category.
Oh! FYI - it's a Christmas quilt I'm working on - you may have spotted the little reindeer picture on my cutting table :)
