I had such a busy week last week. I meant to blog everyday and it just didn't happen! I wanted to share this Tempestry Project (temperature tapestry) that we saw at the visitor's center at Great Basin National Park. I thought it was cool that one represents 1916 and the other 2016.

LAZY
I have been LAZY the past couple of days. I've been reading a lot - finished a book called "Breakfast with Buddha", which was pretty good, binge watched a little Hart of Dixie on Netflix, which I'm enjoying. I did finish my #6 knitted block (above). I still need to block it. Maybe I'll get in the sewing room tomorrow and get busy on something 😊
I saw this on Instagram and got a kick out of it!

Day 60!!
Pretty little flower for Day 60 - 2/3 of the way done!
Chain Stitch, Woven Circle, Cast-on Bullions, Palestrina Knot, Twisted Chain and French Knots
And, I finished another knitting block! I haven't blocked it yet, so it's still wonky but isn't the design pretty?? I'm loving what I'm learning and the online instruction is working out well. I think everyone is being very creative in how we're making things work these days. 😊❤️

Blocking and Washing
The circle today is supposed to be a little cactus! I'm not sure mine looks much like a cactus, but I like it anyway.😊
I finished my 4th block in my knitting class - thank heavens for YouTube! Pictured below are the block, pre-blocked and after blocking. I'm kind of torn whether I like the texture of the block before blocking better than after blocking. It's kind of like washing a quilt. Some people really like the puckery texture of a quilt post washing, I kind of like the just finished pre-washed look. Either way, these knitted blocks need to be blocked because they are all going to be "sewn" together and need to be the same size!
Have a Happy Day!!❤️

Bobbles
Day 21 Circle - Tete de Boeuf stitch, Trellis Stitch and Bouillon Knot Stitch 😊
And, my first attempt at making Bobbles in knitting! I am enjoying learning to knit!
Friday, April 3, 2020
I started Block #3 on my knitting project yesterday and today I learned how to make Bobbles! I was very nervous about these but they ended up not being so bad! I quite enjoy making them actually!
Day Five of the InstaStitchWithSue circle event. Cast-on bullion knots and colonial knots. I think I packed mine in a little too tightly together but it will be OK. My friend Phyllis used to say, "Wait a couple of weeks, look at it again, and you'll like it!"
The rest of the pictures today are an update on my little Gnome project, which I think is going to be a pillow. I've done a lot more embellishing since the last time I shared. Hope you enjoy! I keep calling them the Gnome Bros. Maybe the name of the project will be The Gnome Bros. Garden. 😂
Hope you're all hangin' in there!!❤️

Knitting
I started on block 3 of my knitting project today. I couldn't remember if I shared blocks one and two after I blocked them, so here they are! Not great, but not terrible and I'm having fun so that's the main thing 😊
Day Four of the Circle Stitching with Sue Spargo, on Instagram! Today I made Bouillon Roses, chain stitch and detached chain stitches. SO fun!! The videos are awesome too - very helpful.

Actually I Did Finish Something!
I have not spent much time in my sewing room lately, but I have been knitting and I finished an infinity scarf! This is the one I started over multiple times and it has a few mistakes, but I am happy with the way it turned out! Now I need to block it and put it up for a Christmas gift. I'm getting an early start .... or am I??
Today was my last sewing session with my three little friends and they made these adorable owl pillows. They are all three so creative and it's fun to watch them choose colors and designs. They seemed to have a good time and I know I sure did! It's back to school for them though in a little less than two weeks! Where did the summer go?
Tomorrow I will post some more pictures from the Black Canyon Quilt Show :)

Love This Story
I love this story about this man who knits sweaters to match his travel destinations! I came upon this article in the Inspirations magazine's newsletter and just had to pass it along. Hope you enjoy!

"His website (https://www.sambarsky.com/request-sweaters-and-an-appearance-from-sam-barsky.html) states that hiring Sam Barksy to come to your city/town to craft sweaters and make a public appearance costs $50,000 USD for anywhere within the USA and Canada and an eye-watering $100,000 USD for him to travel anywhere else in the world.
There is one guarantee though, he never makes the same sweater twice so you’d truly be getting a designer piece if you were to opt for your town to keep a sweater for an extra $10,000 USD, that is."
The pictures today were taken at the Embroidery Guild's meeting this month. If I remember right, most of these items were made by Joan! This bag was made in a class taught by Ronda at Black Sheep Handworx Studio.
