The Drizzle Stitch

All of the little Drizzle Stitches on this Christmas tree reminded me of making my sheep bag several years ago!  That is a LOT of re-threading the needle! 😂

What a Class!!

I'm enjoying this class SO much!  We're doing the Toned Down Circle Sampler by Sue Spargo.  I'm making new friends, enjoying old friends and just having a lot of fun 😊

Their circles are turning out amazing too!  Here is Nancy's snail 👏❤️

Embroidered Dress

I taught my hand embroidery class at Craft Addict Junction today and Lori came decked out in this amazing embroidered dress! I would be afraid to wear it or wash it, but she says she wears and washes it all the time! It's truly a work of art. 👏❤️

Tis the Season!

Sadly peach season is coming to an end 😢  We've mostly just been eating a ton of peaches but I couldn't let the season go by without making my Mom's peach cobbler recipe.  It may not exactly be the healthiest but it is the most delicious!  Here's the recipe if you're interested:

Peach Cobbler

In an ungreased 1 1/2 qt. casserole combine the peaches (I use about five), 1 T. vanilla pudding mix and 1/4 cup brown sugar.  Set aside.

Melt 1/2 cup margarine then add: 2/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp cinnamon and the rest of the instant vanilla pudding mix.  Stir until crumbly and sprinkle over the peaches. Bake at 350 degrees for 45- 50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

I'm stitching along with Sue Spargo on a Christmas pillow and I got the first two circles done!  It's going to be fun and cute I can tell!

Temple

Went to the Temple yesterday with this cute girl!  It was a wonderful day ❤️

I also had time to stitch leaf #35 (last picture) - love it!

And the Grand Junction Temple Open House starts in about a week! If you're interested in a free tour, you can sign up for tickets here:

Leaf the Week Behind #34

I made two leafs this week because I have extra so I will have to stitch more at some point.  This week she (Beth Upstill from West Coast Wool) wanted us to do reverse appliqué but I have already stitched all of mine down so I couldn't really do that.  The second option was appliqué tiny cotton circles on top - like 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch circles!  That didn't sound fun....  I decided to to three Trellis stitches in those sizes.  I still stitched the Pekinese stitch around the edge.  Then I thought it would be fun to do three Whipped Woven Circles in those sizes so I made a leaf with those as well. I like them both!

Flutter Finished

I finished Flutter!  I'm happy with the way it turned out 😊. I started big stitch quilting The Avenue - so far, so good!

One of the best parts of summer thanks to my hubby the gardener!

I have a friend whose grandchildren are just a bit older than ours and she keeps giving us the coolest things!  This is obviously a big hit! 🥰

Busy Week!!

My leaf from August 2nd.  I think it was week #31?

Fun times with family the past couple of weeks!  We had a such a fun time at the rodeo!

The two toddlers participated in the Stick Horse race which was hilarious - SO cute 🥰

Good quote and good reminder for me as I'm going through some medicine changes that have knocked me for a loop 😜. We'll figure it out!!

Happy Colorado Day!!

Happy Colorado Day!  Hope you've all had a great day wherever you live! 🥰

I finished the embroidery embellishment on Flutter and got it all ready to quilt!

Today I taught the first Toned Down Circle Sampler class at Craft Addict and Cindy brought the Needle Keep that I helped a friend teach at SSQ's Rendezvous last year.  She did a great job!

And Nancy finished her first circle - only 89 more to go!  The goal is one circle every couple of days 😊

Happy Stitching!

Fun Birthday!!

I had such a fun birthday yesterday!  Lots of love and well wishes from family and dear friends. 🥳 My AI photo just keeps getting better and better!  I wish I could style my hair like that at least!

The beautiful flowers are from my brother! I love the smiley face vase! 😊

Pickleball plates and napkins - couldn't be more perfect!

My friend Pam machine embroidered the cute little case here and filled it with sewing goodies!

Mike bought me the sign - at least he's prepared for no cooking or cleaning on the weekends 😂
I also received some Barnes and Noble gift cards and books because you know .... you can't have too many books!

I finally stitched my Leaf of the Week today.  Above is my first attempt.  The left hand silk ribbon leaves look great but the ones on the right 😲. In order to fix them I had to take them ALL out and start over! Pictured below is the final result and I do think it looks a lot better.

Odds and Ends

Leaf of the Week!

It's nice to have a friend whose grandkids are outgrowing her toys just as your grandkids are growing into them! 🥰

If you need a book, come check out my Little Free Library!  I just put Horse in there - I really enjoyed it.  Now I feel like I really need to go see a horse race 😂

Check out those cowboy boots!!

And Happy 89th Birthday to my Dad!! ❤️🥳

Numbers One and Four for me - how about you??
