Torc Waterfall

The Torc Waterfall was a beautiful little hike up a hill. The trail went up above the waterfall too and we saw some people mountain biking. It would be a beautiful ride.

Pictured here is most of our group with our guide Larry. The tour guides/drivers here in Ireland are not allowed, by law, to drive more than six days in a row, which makes sense. Our tour is seven days, so for us, Larry left us on Wednesday and in his words he morphed into a younger, more beautiful guide named Bēbhinn, a traditional Irish name pronounced Bayvin. She has been wonderful as well. They work very hard, these guides, and we've really appreciated them. Larry told us that Bēbhinn is Irish royalty because she is a direct descendant of Grace O'Malley, the Pirate Queen. She grew up on a little island called Clare off the west coast of Ireland, population 150! Her father is a sheep farmer but has many other jobs as well. Interestingly, Mike and I went to a musical play at the Hale Centre  Theatre in Salt Lake a couple of months ago called The Pirate Queen and it was Grace O'Malley's story! It was very good! Bēbhinn calls her her great great grand pirate :)
