Lisa Zahn

Lisa Zahn was our speaker at CWQG last week.  She does collage quilts and is a certified teacher of the Laura Heine method.  Her quilts were fun and beautiful!  Here is a sampling of some of hers and some of her friends! 😊

Deep Clean

I'm deep cleaning my sewing room!  It's going to take awhile.... This week I cut up some fabric scraps into either 5" or 10" squares and made bundles the guild can hopefully sell at their booth at the upcoming quilt show 😊 Show are the pretty Japanese taupe and woven fabrics.

CWQG Program

Maryanna Powell from Craft Addict Junction presented the program last night for Colorado West Quilt Guild and it was so much fun!  I love her quilts and the way she presented them and shared how she came up with the ideas to make them.  It was a great presentation and as you can see, the quilts are amazing!

 👏❤️😊

Gotta love the hamburger with the hamburger and fries backing...

Flashback

Here is a little flashback to a quilt I made many years ago for a Colorado West Quilt Guild challenge called "Yikes Stripes!"

My daughter drew the dragon and I turned it into this quilt - pretty creative for me, with the ear hanging off the border!  I named it "Yikes My Stripes are Dragon!!)

Craft Addict Junction

Ellen, from Craft Addict Junction, gave a lovely presentation to the Colorado West Quilt Guild tonight about their store, their new location, and all that is going on there!  It was a lot of fun and very inspiring!  I may need to go shopping 😊

Wow!!

Everything posted today was made by my friend Theresa.  Look at all of the teeny tiny squares in this quilt!  And the fun back, which thankfully she didn't piece but it fits the quilt perfectly.  I can't remember how long she said it took her to make this but WOW! 👏❤️

And then these teeny tiny bags, with zippers!  You can see it's smaller than the palm of my hand!  She is a bag maker extraordinaire 😊

Show and Tell

I was helping hold quilts so I didn't get great pictures of show and tell at the guild meeting, but there were some great show and tell quilts there!  And a bag!

Some great books in the Cherryhill Bookbarn!!

Happy Birthday CWQG!!

At the guild meeting last night we celebrated Colorado West Quilt Guild's birthday!  Just over 30 years old!  We had a silent auction, where we brought goods from our sewing spaces that we no longer need or use and then shopped from what everyone else brought.  All the proceeds went to the guild for programs etc.  It was a lot of fun!!  I'll share some show and tell pictures tomorrow 😊

Silent Auction

Tomorrow night is quilt guild meeting and it's Silent Auction time!  We clean out our sewing rooms and bring stuff we don't want/need anymore and hopefully sell it to someone who does want/need it!  All the money raised goes to the guild for programs etc.  I did a pretty good job cleaning out this weekend.  And my sewing room thanked me too - it doesn't feel quite so cluttered!

It's A Challenge!

Colorado West Quilt Guild does a challenge every year and this year it was Colorful Colorado!  Those who participated got to pick a crayon from a bag and were required to use that color in their quilt.  I think the results were marvelous!

These are the winners!  (It's judged by everyone who attends casting a vote).  Two of them tied for first place and two tied for second.  Congratulations to them all! 👏😊❤️
