Table Runner

I made a lot of progress on my table runner this week.  I actually got the top all pieced together and the borders on (not shown yet).  Now it's ready for some sashiko stitching!!

 

Tablerunner

I've been trying to stay caught up on Sue Spargo's BOM Kith and Kin, so I've had nothing to post because that's all I've had time to work on and I can't share pictures yet!  But, the other day I actually did start a tablerunner project I've been wanting to start.  It's all paper piecing which I haven't done in a LONG time, but I got the first four blocks done!  Yeah!

 

Spice Market

I've had a hard time getting anything done sewing-wise this week. It's been a very busy week. I don't want to get as busy as I was pre-pandemic.  I really like having time to sew and work on projects.  

So, I accomplished ONE thing this week and that was to get one more block done on my Spice Market Warm BOM!  Yeah! More freezer paper piecing, which is kind of fun.  I used to do this all the time but haven't for awhile.

The plan is to sew this afternoon!  I better go get busy! 😊

 

EPP Miniatures

These are the last of the pictures I took at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum exhibit.  I couldn't leave out the miniatures!  They are pretty awesome.

From the Past...

The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum also had an exhibit of English Paper Pieced quilts made some time ago.  It's heartening to see how well these have held up over the years, especially the crib quilt above, which as you can see here was used for at least two babies!

This looks very similar to one my sister-in-law quilted for my aunt not too long ago!

The embroidered stars are a unique way of tying the quilt!

I love the use of the stripes and plaids in this one :)

A Different Category

Today's featured quilts from the RMQM exhibit are those unique quilts that didn't quite fit into one of my previous pattern categories.  They are just beautiful and I hope you enjoy looking at and reading about them 😊

Hexagon Quilts

Now for all of the hexagon quilts at the RMQM, starting with this miniature.  You hear all the time of people traveling with their "hexies" - a little sewing kit with their English Paper Piecing supplies and hexagon papers. They even had little hexie kits for sale in the museum's gift shop.  Enjoy these beautiful quilts, all made from those little "hexies"!  It's almost like the Log Cabin quilts - it's so versatile what one can make with a hexagon!
