Beautiful Quilts

It's chemo week and we so appreciate the beautiful quilts that hang in the cancer center at St. Mary's!  Thanks to all who help coordinate this!

And if you want to see more beautiful quilts, don't forget to head to the quilt show this Friday and Saturday, downtown at the Convention Center!!

New Year's Questions

I will try to answer these New Years questions that my daughter came up with:

1.  What new skills did you learn or new things did you do this year?
The only one I can think of is Big Stitch hand quilting.

2.  What unexpected joys or gifts did you receive?
We got invited to be on the committee for planning the Grand Junction Temple dedication and open house, which ended up being a true joy and gift 😊

3.  What was your favorite book, movie, song or meal?
book - Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall
I can't think of a favorite for the others...

4.  What's a surprising new obsession?
It's not new because I've been playing a few years now, but it is an obsession - Pickleball!!

5. What's a small, simple joy you want to prioritize next year?
Spending time with my hubby ❤️

6.  What was the funniest thing that happened to you this year?
I'll change this to the funnest and say our trip to Ireland ☘️🇨🇮

7. What are you proud of that you didn't expect to achieve?
I completed workouts every week for the whole year and I have a 2650 day streak on Duolingo, trying to learn Spanish.

8.  What's one totally new skill you want to learn or one habit or routine you'd like to start in 2026?
Cooking and eating healthy

9.  Create a phrase or statement that describes this past year for you.
Difficult and filled with tender mercies ❤️

10.  What are you most grateful for as the year ends?
My wonderful family 🥰❤️😊🥰

Try answering these questions for yourself - it's nice to reflect on the old year as we begin a new one.

Just a Few More!

A few more pictures from our Ireland trip because it's SO pretty!!

Circled in red is where you kiss the Blarney Stone (from the inside).  It's a pretty windy staircase to get up to the top! 😊

I do miss the full Irish breakfast!  Especially the porridge! ❤️🇨🇮☘️

Library Quilt Show

My husband grew up in a small town in Wyoming and this past weekend we went there for his 50th high school class reunion.  We had a great time and he was able to catch up with a lot of old friends.  While waiting for him during one activity I went into the library and they just happened to have a quilt show going on!  Lucky me!  Here are the quilts that were on display 😊

Belfast and Ballygally

In Belfast we got to tour Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, the Royal residence in Northern Ireland.

Beautiful!!

And, the Titanic museum which I was very much looking forward to, did NOT disappoint!  It was really amazing and we learned a lot.  Here we are standing right where the Titanic was built (The Titanic on the left and the Olympic on the right)  They still build ships here.

We stayed in Ballygally Castle hotel which is haunted by the ghost of Isabel.  I was sure I heard her in the middle of the night! 😲. Might have been my imagination, who knows? 😂

We were right across the street from the ocean where people were swimming!  It felt cold to us desert dwellers!
