It's a Start!

I got the first three blocks done for the Boho Heart quilt!!

 

Allegory

I finished a quilt and got to check it off my projects list!  Hurray!

This quilt is called Allegory and it was a kit from Anna Maria Textiles (actually I bought the kit from Sue Spargo's website :) I love how it turned out and a big thank you to Cheryl Bradford who did the quilting for me!! 👏😊❤️

It's machine pieced and hand appliquéd.

Look who has been walking around our neighborhood this week!! 😳

 

What's Next?

 I still need to take some up close quilting pictures of Bespoke, but this quilt, Allegory is ready to be pieced together!  Then hopefully I can get Cheryl to quilt this one for me too!

Bespoke

After a few months, I'm back to working on the Bespoke quilt again.  I am loving working with Anna Maria Horner's fabric!  She actually changed her professional name to Anna Maria Parry, after a remarriage - or you can look up Anna Maria Textiles. Such beautiful fabric lines!

 

Big Woods

My friend Nancy finished her Big Woods quilt (pattern by Sarah Fielke)!  It turned out so beautiful and I love the backing too (Big Backs by Tula Pink).  Eddy Davis quilted the quilt 😊

 

Coming Home

 My friend Rena finished this beautiful quilt - the pattern is Coming Home by Sarah Fielke.  Rena did an amazing job on all of the piecing and appliqué and it was quilted by Cheryl Bradford.

New Project

I'm starting a new project.... even though I still have others I need to finish 😬

I just couldn't resist!  I ordered this Anna Maria fabric and pattern for the Bespoke Quilt No. 1 and it's SO pretty!  I don't have a lot of time to work on it right now, but I did make the first four blocks 🥰

 

Curve Success!

I got two baby quilts pieced together today and am really happy with the way they turned out!

With the Classic Curves ruler and excellent instructions on YouTube, this pattern pieced together SO nicely.  I like sewing curved blocks slightly bigger so they are exactly the right size when piecing the quilt together.  There was very little waste when trimming the blocks too, only about 1/8 inch all the way around. Curvalicious

I pieced some of the curves for this quilt yesterday and had fun doing it!  I'm learning to be much more careful with the PRESSING so I don't distort the block and I love that extra fabric is allowed for a little trimming after pressing to square them up.  I'm excited about this quilt!

A Break ...

A little break from boring vacation photos 😂

I started a new quilt!  I've been eyeing Jennifer Sampou's log cabin patterns with her ombre fabrics for awhile now and I finally broke down and bought the pattern and some fabric to make one!  After making the first two blocks (I had to unstitch and re-do half of one of them), things are going a little bit smoother now.  I love the fabric - this lavender deepens to a dark purple as you go along the 42 inch length.  It's like having multiple colors in one piece, which hopefully will make the quilt much more interesting (if I do it right!)

Eight of the 16 blocks need to be high contrast like this one.

I stitched Leaf #26 this morning!  That means we're already half way through 2025!  🤪  If it looks like my tree isn't half way done, it's because I added a few more than the 52 leaves.
