Miniature Quilts!!

Most of you know that I do love miniature quilts and the miniature quilt category at quilt shows.  Here are some stand outs from the Houston show:

This quilt, Wearable Art, by Philippa Naylor of the UK, won The Superior Threads Master Award for Thread Artistry and $5000.  And the most amazing part - this quilt is LESS THAN 12 INCHES SQUARE!! The picture does not do it justice - it's an amazing small piece of art. Congratulations Philippa!!

This is Little George, by Debby Eades from Texas.  The quilt is named after the designer, George Siciliano (Debby took a class from him).  I'm guessing the quilt to be about 18 inches square.  Amazing!

Whirlygig by Linda Crouch from Australia.  Wholecloth, exquisite machine quilting. First Place winner in the miniature category.  You can see the ribbon is almost as big as the quilt!

This quilt is a scaled down version of one published by the same name in Transparency Quilts by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr.  I have that book and I love this quilt, which is why this one grabbed my attention.

Now get this - the blocks were scaled down from 12 inches to 1 1/4 inches!!
