We Have Made a Lot of Projects Together!
Here are the rest of the pictures I took at the Little Bits meeting, of projects we have made together through the years.
We made wool pin cushions at June's house. June has been very generous with her wool! (And her yo-yos!)
More yo-yo's on a painted canvas. I believe Lori got us going on these.
Max got us going on Snippets - cutting up little pieces of fabric and fusing them onto a background to make pictures, such as this Christmas tree and wreath that she made.
These last two pieces are quilts that Eleanor made on her own. She found the pattern for this one in a magazine.
And here is her Dear Jane! She decided to make a smaller version.
It is quite amazing when we gather all of our projects together to see how much we've done over the years! Keep on quilting - there are many more projects to make!
Have a great day :)

Memories
It has been a busy week for our family. My father-in-law passed away so we've enjoyed some family time as we celebrated his 89 years of living and the great husband and father that he was. We will cherish the many happy memories of his life!
I promised some pictures from our Little Bits get together last week. Kathy shared this old quilt top that she recently found among family "stuff". She is trying to decide how to finish it!
As I mentioned before we took a "walk down memory lane" as we shared projects that we worked on together from the past. One of these projects was our little houses. We made enough two inch house blocks for everyone and traded them. We each had to use the blue and black check fabric somewhere in our two inch block. Then we could put them together in a miniature quilt in whatever setting we chose. They all turned out great. June's is very cleverly put together in the shape of a little house, complete with a white picket fence.
We have made quick, easy table runners. I love this one of Sherida's. Don't you just love the fabric she used?
Another project was our miniature row by row quilts. We did not trade any blocks for these, just used a common garden theme, shared some patterns and made them however we chose to. Look at the teeny tiny hummingbirds on Sherida's (below).
Amazing.
What a fun group and what lovely friends. We've been together as a group now for over 15 years!

Slow Going
I have been working on the borders on this quilt and it has been slow going, as I am hand appliquéing the alphabet and numbers on the borders. I will also add some flowers and vines and leaves eventually. That's all I've had time to work on this week so I don't have much to show!
I did go to my miniature quilt group meeting yesterday and we had a little walk down memory lane as we shared projects we've worked on together over the last 15 plus years! It was very fun. I will post some of those pictures over the next few days.
I hope you're having a great week!!

Toys!
My daughter made these crocheted blocks for her baby and filled them crinkly plastic so they make a fun noise when she squeezes and plays with them. They're a big hit!
Here is for a Healthy 2016!!
I ate salad for dinner! Mostly croutons & tomatoes. Really just one big, round crouton covered with tomato sauce and cheese. FINE, it was a whole pizza. I ate a whole pizza.
I just did a week's worth of cardio after walking into a spider web.
I don't mean to brag but......I finished my 14-day diet in 3 hours and 20 minutes.
A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.
Kids today don't know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk 9 feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.
I think I'll just put an "Out of Order" sticker on my forehead and call it a day.

Don't forget to set your bathroom scale back 10 pounds on Saturday night!

Speaking of Creativity
Speaking of creativity, Sharon Wright, when she was here, shared a quote about creativity that I really love:
"God left the world unfinished for man to work his skill upon. He left the electricity in the cloud, the oil in the earth.
He left the rivers unbridged, the forests unfelled and the cities unbuilt. God gives to man the challenge of raw materials,
not the ease of finished things. He leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved,
that man might know the joys and glories of creation."

A Seamstress in Training
On The Inbox Jaunt blog recently, there was some discussion about whether to say "Sewer" or Sewist", words which also have other meanings..... versus "Seamstress". I've settled on seamstress, since the other meaning to sewer is not as pleasant!
So here our seamstress in training is picking out fabric for a new dress. She seams to have settled on this beautiful piece.
She is getting familiar with the tape measure as she helps her Mommy. I told Mommy that now is a good time to sew. Once she starts crawling, she will learn to make that foot pedal really GO!
And Voila! Mommy made a beautiful dress. I can hardly wait to see her in her new dress, and how fun for my daughter to create something beautiful for her daughter. Creativity is very satisfying :)
I hope you have a fun, creative day!

Gotcha!!
My husband got me TWICE today for April Fool's Day. I didn't get anyone, not even once!
First of all, I got in my car and started it up this morning and everything came on - the windshield wipers, the turn signal, everything all at once - freaked me out!
Then I got on my work computer and the mouse wouldn't work! I thought the computer was frozen and luckily he was home so I told him "look, my computer isn't working!" He told me to turn the mouse over and this note was stuck to the bottom, blocking the little laser light thingy that makes it work....
(This is no joke though - I did finish another little Brazilian embroidery block!)
And of course I fell for The Quilt Show's April Fool's joke ... again! You would think I'd learn. To check it out go to:
