Nine Months Old!!

I can hardly believe it but our granddaughter is nine months old already!  I didn't think she could get any cuter, but she just gets cuter by the minute and has a delightful personality as well! We love her SO much!!

Oh what fun it is to be a Grandma :)

Funny Row by Row Story

The Row by Row Experience is on again this summer and the theme is "Row by Row Home Sweet Home". I have seen some CUTE row patterns this year in the shops!  I've only picked up a couple so far but I have my sights set on some more.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Hi Fashion and Lorraine overheard my daughter and I talking about driving through St. George and wanting to stop at the Superior Thread Company - something on my "want to do" list.  She told us that a woman had just come through Grand Junction wanting to pick up the row by row kit from Hi Fashion but had missed out, arriving just after they had closed!  The lady happened to be from the St. George area and Lorraine said if we were going to be stopping at a store in St. George perhaps we could connect with this lady and bring her the kit, or leave it at the shop and she could pick it up there.  I told her of course we would do that - what are fellow quilters for right?

So it was arranged - I was supposed to leave it at Mother Superior's Fab Fabrics on Tuesday and Linda would pick it up from there.  Well, we didn't arrive in St. George until almost 8:00 PM, after the store had closed.  I texted Linda and asked if she would like to meet somewhere else, but she was still road tripping collecting row by rows from many other quilt shops in a couple of other states!  I told her we would be back through on Saturday and I'd drop it off then.  Saturday, we missed Fab Fabrics by 15 minutes!  Now I knew how it felt to arrive at the quilt shop right after it closes!  I called Linda, who was home by this time, and we arranged to meet at the Harley Davidson shop just off the freeway, where I was able to meet a friendly fellow quilter, deliver her row by row kits from Grand Junction and she in turn gave me one from her local quilt shop in Hurricane, Utah!  It was a fun experience and thanks to Lorraine for setting it all up!  I still need to go back to St. George though and visit the Superior Thread company.  Phyllis and Eddy tell me it's pretty amazing :)

Highlights From the Magic Kingdom!

As I mentioned yesterday, we took a trip to Disneyland last week with our daughter and her family.  What a fun time we had visiting Disneyland with our first grandchild!

She was interested in everything and afraid of nothing!  Not even Goofy!

We had to satisfy Grandma's sweet tooth with a Cookie Bits Sundae from the Ghirardelli Shop. Delicious!!

She does not like hats but we were able to snatch a couple of "mouse ear" photos before she took them off.  Above is Snow White.

The parks opened at 7:00 AM and she was ready to go each morning!

And then pretty pooped out later in the day :)

Here she is trying on Minnie ears.  They didn't last long.  As soon as she realizes something is on her head, off it goes!

I was amazed at how many rides she could go on at this age.  She was so enthralled with them all that it made it that much more fun for the rest of us :)

We had to get a little beach time in, while in California!  She loved that too - loved the sand, loved the ocean - she loves being outdoors!

Uh oh, she's discovered the money .... and the credit cards .... Watch out Dad!

What a fun time we had with our good little traveler on our Disneyland adventure!  She won't remember it, but we all will!  We will have to go again when she's older!

Have a very HAPPY day :)

Happy Birthday Jeff!!

Happy Birthday Jeff!  My son is turning 30 today!  I told him that he is still young and he said he's "youngish" -  I told him I'M youngish, he's young!
We've had a busy week, as you can tell since I haven't posted for a few days.  We spent last weekend in Park City celebrating the "30, 55, 80" birthday party.  We had a ton of fun hanging out with family.  Then we joined our youngest daughter and her family for a fun trip to Disneyland and just got home late last night.  What a great time!  I sure love spending time with our family :)

Megan had the great idea to create a picture book for my Dad's birthday.  She collected pictures from all of us with my Dad through the years and put them together in a "Critter Book".  (The kids all call him Critter).  There are pictures of them skiing, hiking, boating, eating, riding go-carts, going to Disneyland, even sky diving together!  It turned out great and I think he is really enjoying it.

We missed my youngest son, he couldn't make it, but we did a Google hangout with him so he could say "hi" to everyone.  (My brother was visiting too!) We played some fun games and Jeff and Jessie made "Butter Beer" - famous from Harry Potter and SO delicious.  I must get the recipe!

Back to quilting this week.  It would be nice to finish quilting Dear Jane before my birthday, as a gift to myself :)

Celebrations

Five years ago my son, myself, and my Dad who were all born in July celebrated our 25,50,75 year marks. This weekend we got together to celebrate again (I'll let you do the math :) So besides celebrating our country's birthday, we did a little family birthday celebrating as well!
It was a lot of fun being with family! Look at the cutest present ever!
Anyone doing the Row by Row, Home Sweet Home experience this year? I've seen some cute row patterns at stores so far! I haven't been to the stores, just seen them online, but I hope to pick up some by the end of summer :)

Here They Are!

Here are the last of the photos I'm going to share from our Ireland trip.  I didn't take all of these, my daughter took some and another member of our group took some.  I really do think I need to make an art quilt.  That would definitely be a new adventure for me!

I brought back a thimble, a purse, and of course had to get some sheep :)

I hope you're having a fun, creative day!
