I'm wrapping up my visit to the Utah Quilt Guild's quilt show with these photos I'm sharing today. It was a small show, but a wonderful one as you can see by the quality of the work that went into these beautiful quilts.
This quilt "Flower Garden Tiles" by Nancy Henderson won two awards, one for Best Hand Quilting and a First Place for Hand Appliqué.
"New York Tour" by Patti Godot won two ribbons as well, a Judge's Choice and a First Place for the theme "Quilts Over Broadway".
I do love hand work, so no wonder I was drawn to Janine Eames quilt "Palampore".
I thought this fancy ribbon attached to the binding was an interesting idea! The quilting in this quilt is A-MAZ-ING!
Just too cute!
An interesting Round Robin quilt, made with friends!
I love the idea behind this quilt "Wonkytopia" by Ruth Davis. The quilt blocks were exchanged within a group of four online friends from Utah, Brazil, Argentina and California. Every month they would make four wonky houses, keep one and send the other three out to their friends. The little wonky houses are fun and very clever. Ruth added the trees and stars to make her quilt bigger.
Best of Show was won by Karin Crawford for
"Mary Queen of Bedford"
I really, really love this quilt. It won Best Machine Quilting (I can see why!) and 2nd Place in the Modern category.
Such a fun piece "Quilter" by Elise Larsen. I'd love to hang this in my sewing room 😁
Elise Larsen took home First and Second Place ribbons in the Modern category!
