My Husband's Favorite
My husband's favorite quilt on display at the Brigham City Museum is Cynthia England's "Piece and Quiet". This quilt is a large wall hanging and as you stand and look at it, it just draws you into the scene. It feels very peaceful and quiet (probably hence the name!)
I can hardly believe this quilt is all pieced! Over 8000 pieces! Reading her artist's statement you'll see that there are tiny amounts of appliqué but the majority of the quilt is pieced - not fused. Amazing.
Cynthia will be teaching at the Utah Quilt Guild's Quilt Fest, coming up September 15-19 in Layton, Utah.

In amongst all of the tiny pieces she hid a wolf and a deer. She mentioned it in her artist's statement so my husband had to find them!
This quilt was named one of the "20th Century's 100 Best American Quilts".
