I am actually going to The Quilt Show taping tomorrow - driving over to Centennial today :) I will try to post some pictures, but for today enjoy these quilts that are currently hanging at the Brigham City Art Museum in Brigham City, Utah!
A Frame of Mind
by Flora Joy (Tennessee)
This is the three-in-one quilt I find so fascinating. Depending on which angle you view it from you see Mother Teresa, Oprah Winfrey or Jacqueline Kennedy. This is a quilt, made of fabric, even the frame - incredible.
Let's All Spring Forward
by Rosalie Baker (Iowa)
Wind, Moon and Sun
by Marcia Eygabroat (New York)
Ivey Hayes, a famous regional artist, contacted Eygabroat and asked her if she would recreate some of his paintings in fabric. This is one of them.
Planting Time 2
by Marcia Eygabroat (New York)
Another recreation of one of Ivey Hayes' paintings.
Vintage Button Bouquet
by Linda M. Roy (Tennessee)
Open Season
by Cynthia England (Texas)
The inspiration for this quilt was a photo by Leroy Williamson that appeared in the Texas Highways Magazine. It took Cynthia six years to create this quilt, using her Picture Piecing technique. It is constructed with over 21,000 pieces and 280 different fabrics. It feels like you're looking at a photograph - amazing.
So there is a little inspiration for you! Have a wonderful day!
That winter quilt is a-maz-ing!
