Cheryl Lynch
The first guest I was able to see being taped for The Quilt Show Saturday was Cheryl Lynch. She shared her mosaic technique of creating pictorial quilts and also showed her Curvalicious Ruler, which was used to make the baby quilts in this picture.
All of these quilts were made mosaic style. She cuts bits of fabric into 3/8 inch squares! She created a special ruler to make cutting these tiny squares easier. They are carefully placed on the design and covered with tule before quilting. I'll have to watch the show to remember how she got the pattern on the fusible web! It's an interesting technique!
Every bit on the front of these mosaic quilts is a 3/8 inch square, even the grid work on the bicycle quilt. And you can see she used her Curvalicious ruler to make some interesting borders.
