A Couple of Things
I went to the Embroidery Guild meeting on Tuesday and one lady brought in these projects that someone else started and she was trying to finish. I think that is really hard by the way! She thought, at first, that they were needle punched but she found out that it's "hooking", like rug hooking I guess. I've never tried that, and I don't think I will :) But they sure are pretty! She said she is a left hander trying to finish a right hander's work.... I admire her perseverance!
This is another one of the hooked projects.
Another lady brought in this butterfly pin made of thread and it's the Colorado State butterfly! I didn't even know Colorado had a state butterfly. I thought the name, Colorado Hairstreak, was interesting but I looked it up and it's for real! It's pretty!
She also brought in this beautiful beaded box. Such talent - I love it!
Speaking of talent - Miss Cutie Pie and Doggy went to their very first dance class this week! I can hardly wait to go to her first recital!
I've been working on a sample for a class I'm teaching at Hi Fashion this Fall called Summer Blooms Bag. It's a Sue Spargo pattern. I am loving the way it's turning out!! I hope to get it all put together this next week and then I will share some pictures of it. If you're interested in learning some fun hand embroidery stitches, do sign up for the class - I believe it's going to be SO fun :)
I'll get back to sharing some photos of quilts from the Birmingham Quilt Festival - they're are some awesome ones for sure so stayed tuned!
