I took one class at the Garden of Quilts event and it was this Dishes quilt pattern. I don't sew a lot of curves but the ruler we used and the technique she showed us made piecing these blocks fairly easy! I got 8 blocks done in the three hour class.
The teacher, Vanessa Goertzen designs patterns, writes books, and designs fabric and she's probably in her early 30's! She is in the very center, front row, in the picture above. I really love her fabric lines, she has a new one out for Christmas that I love. I also love her Harvest Road collection. She designs for Moda and lives in St. George, Utah. You can find out more about her patterns, books and fabric on her website:

and see what she's creating on her blog:

FUN class!!!!
Some of her quilts, patterns and her new book (18 quilts made from Jelly Rolls)
The blocks I finished! At first I wasn't sure I liked the fabric I chose
(you use a layer cake for this pattern), but they're growing on me!
I think this one will be fun to quilt too.
