Crested Chain Stitch

Day Ten!  Today's circle has the Crested Chain Stitch, the Closed Fly Stitch, the Double Cast-on and the Colonial Knot.  In the picture above, you can see how the Crested Chain looks as compared to the Rosette Chain (lime green).

And on the right, you can see my piece so far!  I think this is going to look so cool when all done.  80 more to go!

Back to the projects in Santa Fe 😊

This is Meg, one of my seat mates, from Canada.
She chose a tree as her inspiration.

Another seat mate - Pat, from Michigan.  Pat is an art quilter, so the design aspect
wasn't difficult for her, she was really interested in learning the embellishing stitches.

Becky from Texas.  I just LOVE her design and the beautiful colors she chose.  She said she used the piece of fabric at the bottom for her inspiration on the colors.  Becky is an excellent quilter too so I will be excited to see this piece when it's all finished.

Another seat mate - Lynn from Oregon - with her bird Kevin.  Meg commented as the design was developing that this bird reminded her of the bird Kevin in the movie UP.  So throughout the week he became known as Kevin 😂 and was inspired by a 3D art piece Lynn found at the Museum of International Folk Art.  These three gals were a lot of fun to sit with and hang out with during the week!  Isn't it fun how easy it is to connect with and become friends with other stitchers?

My favorite tree in full Springtime bloom!
