This Baby Quilt Took WAY Longer Than 90 Minutes!

Day 40!  I like this circle but it was hard!
I think I might have had more success if I'd started in the middle and worked my way out, but I was trying to follow the instructions which had me start with the four gray Double Cast-on stitches on the outer part of the design.  I don't think I allowed myself enough room, so I really had to squish those purple Double Cast-ons in there, then Bouillon knots and Pistil stitches!  🤪  I almost started over a few times, but instead I kept going and by the end, I really didn't want to do the whole thing over.  So, it's not my finest, but there it is....

I may end up doing it over .... but not today....

I spent the better part of the day working on this baby quilt.  It is a Cuddle kit and I LOVE the fabric, but to be honest, I'll probably never make a Cuddle quilt again!  To be fair, I did not use the 505 Adhesive spray, as they recommend, because the last time I used it,  I over-sprayed all over, and my sewing room was sticky for months.  To try and do all the spraying outside would have meant several trips up and down the stairs 🤨.  So I decided to tack the strips down with Misty Fuse (using up stuff in my sewing room!).  And it did work, just took longer and some of this cuddle fabric probably wasn't meant to be ironed 😬.  Anyway, it turned out super cute I think, which is good since I put a lot of time and effort into it!
One Cuddle tip I did try, which was VERY helpful, was 1) Keep a vacuum on hand to vacuum your cutting mat between cuts, and 2) gather up all of the cut cuddle fabric and put it in your dryer with a wet wash cloth and run your dryer.  All the "cuddle dust" ends up in your lint trap (so be sure to clean that out!) and you can now work with it, without it shedding all over your sewing room and into your machine etc.  It worked SO well and was so much easier to work with.
I still don't think I'll make another quilt like this, so I'll have to save this one for a special little person.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
