Happy New Year!! 🥳

Happy New Year!! 🥳

I think the whole world is ready for 2021 and the hope for a better year.  I couldn't help but ponder about the good things that happened in 2020 though.  There have been a lot of negative things, but if you think about it, you can come up with some positives too.

Coming together - especially early in the Spring, the whole world came together to try to slow the spread. We had massive mask making going on here in Grand Junction, support and gratitude for essential workers and reaching out to loved ones in whatever ways we could.  We connected with friends from afar that we hadn't heard from in quite awhile! ❤️

Working from home - our daughter, our son and our son-in-law have been working from home most of the year and I think for the most part, they've really liked it!  It gives my daughter two extra hours in her day, because she doesn't have to commute and my son-in-law reports getting to spend a lot more time with his family.  While the company he worked for went under due to the pandemic, he was, thankfully able to find another job. My youngest son also had a job change during 2020, and he doesn't miss the commute either!

Zoom - while it's not as great as being there in person, we have been able to include more family members, who are farther away, than we would have getting together in person.  We've have had several fun Zoom birthday parties and Zoom game nights (just did one tonight), from at least three different states! We've definitely been more creative in finding ways to get together.

Virtual Book Club meetings and quilt meetings - again, not quite as fun as being there in person, but at least we were still able to do them!  Thankful for that!  I even got to go to the Houston International Quilt Festival virtually, and it was awesome!

More time for quilting!  Spending more time at home = more time to quilt and work on my projects.  I've loved slowing down a bit and really appreciating the time to enjoy doing things that I love to do, and not feeling quite so rushed all of the time.  I've even started playing the piano again and I'm loving it!

My heart goes out to all who've been adversely affected by the pandemic, especially those who've lost loved ones to the disease.  So many things have just been heart breaking and I do wish, hope, and pray for many good and better things to come in 2021, especially for this pandemic to be controlled and the vaccine to work and help millions worldwide.

My hubby and I spent the afternoon snowshoeing on the Grand Mesa.  It was an absolutely beautiful day.

I loved how these two trees are growing right next to each other.  As you look up, you can see the branches of the evergreen tree are just wrapping around the other tree.

Fun day with my favorite person in the world, and my best friend 😊❤️

Happy New Year to all and all the best in 2021!!
