My six year old granddaughter has discovered the love of sewing and can use the sewing machine very well! She got on a real sewing kick right before school started. My daughter told me that she quickly decided she didn't need to pin, and she didn't like putting right sides together because it made the seams "too bulky". She prefers just to layer the fabric one over the top and sew them that way. My daughter told her she was just trying to teach her the "correct" way to do it. Granddaughter's answer, "There is no correct way, there is only the way other people do it." OK! My daughter and I are both pattern/rule followers, so this will be fun! She'll probably help us bust out of our box too!
It took some minor toe surgery to get me to slow down enough to post on my blog. It's been a busy few weeks. I really want to get more consistent though! In upcoming posts, look for pictures of quilts I saw at the quilt festival in SLC!
Loved the sign at our local bookstore downtown!
And, yes it's peach season - eating them EVERY day, as many as I can! And tomatoes... 😋
Your granddaughter is so correct; she will style her way and we will follow!
