Border Quilt
My daughter's quilt group is working on Border Quilts this year. I have to admit that at first I wasn't sure what a Border Quilt was! I've heard of Round Robins, where you start with a block and pass it around to a group of friends, and everyone adds borders to each other's quilts, around and around until it's the size you want.
This is different though, it's a quilt of borders, more like what I would call a Row Quilt. Anyway - here are the beautiful fabrics she chose and her first border! Looks like a ton of fun!
"Quilting is a way of expressing myself, of sorting out thoughts and emotions, of sifting through daily experiences, frustrations, and joys, to produce a visual, tactile record of a day, a month, a minute .... It is a way to wrap my children in love at night, to delight them during the day. Quilting .... has given me self-confidence and helped me to see that I am a unique individual with a unique view of life."
