Making Progress

I've been slowly making progress on my machine quilting with rulers quilt along.  I did the border above with a straight edge ruler and the motif below with the tear drop rulers I bought at Hi Fashion. (The middle was done with a straight edge.)

Sometimes I just have to add a little free motion quilting in there because ... it's SO much easier!  I do like the effect of the rulers though and I will use them ... occasionally 😂.

I learned to how make my space smaller, if my motif is smaller.  I used the Angela Walter's cut-out Taj ruler for the motif above.

Tried some meandering with cut-out Taj - didn't go so well...

So I went back to my comfort zone and did feathers...

And paisleys ... then I picked up Taj again and did the dark blue border pictured below - it went better!  I even turned the corners!
