I don't have anything Quilty to share today, so I thought I'd share a little family adventure. Early in June we visited the Colorado National Monument. Mike has a friend who volunteers his time as a ranger up there and he had arranged a time to meet with him so our granddaughter could earn her Jr. Ranger badge.
She got her Jr. Ranger hat, filled out part of the book before we went and on the drive up, Mike told her to be sure to ask Ranger Dave a LOT of questions. She was prepared!
She did ask a lot of questions and very good ones too, I might add!
After the hike she met with Ranger Mary, who went over her booklet with her and swore her in, as a Jr. Ranger, before giving her the badge. 😊
We also met this interesting gentleman, who made, by hand, all of the musical pipes sitting to the right of him. He played us a couple of tunes and explained how he makes the instruments and what kind of wood he uses. Very interesting. I always love handmade stuff!
What a fun adventure!! I didn't realize it, but there are Jr. Ranger programs at all of the national parks, so many more badges can be earned! A big thanks to all of the rangers who volunteer their time! 👏❤️😊🇺🇸
That is so cute!
